Kraft Foods to Outsource IT Infrastructure to EDS, Deal Worth $1.7 Billion

Plano, Texas, -- EDS today has announced a new seven-year, $1.7 billion global information technology services agreement with Kraft Foods Inc., the world's second-largest food and beverage company.

To support Kraft's global operations, EDS will provide a broad range of IT services including data centers, hosting, telecommunications and workplace support services. In addition, EDS Agility Alliance partners, including Dell, Microsoft, Cisco and EMC collaborated on the contract and will play a key role in providing hardware and software solutions to Kraft.

As part of the agreement, EDS will assume responsibility for Kraft Foods' IT infrastructure and will manage desktop workstations and servers for more than 60,000 employees world wide. Kraft and EDS will work together to develop a flexible platform that is scalable and responsive to Kraft's business needs.

"The new contract with Kraft is a testament to our global capability and capacity to deliver complex IT services," said Steve Schuckenbrock, EDS' co- chief operating officer and executive vice president of Global Sales & Client Solutions. "EDS will leverage its Agile Platform and the EDS Agility Alliance to bring the best-in-class technology to our client."

EDS' Agile Platform utilizes standardized service offerings and products from our alliance partners to create our next generation global delivery system that enable clients to react quickly to changing market dynamics.

The agreement with Kraft represents the largest consumer packaged goods contract EDS has signed in the Consumer Industries & Retail sector and marks the company's growing capabilities in this specialized industry.

EDS will provide a globally integrated, end-to-end solution designed to provide consistent processes and tools to maximize savings and mitigate risks.

Approximately 670 Kraft employees globally will transition to EDS.

EDS serves more than 200 consumer and retail industry clients and generates more than $1 billion in revenue in this sector annually As a leading provider in the consumer and retail industry, EDS focuses on a variety of market segments including food/beverage, apparel/footwear, consumer products and all retail outlets including restaurants, mass/department, grocery, drug, convenience, online/catalog and specialty.
